Dear ORCA Members,

Please see the links below from the City of OKC regarding the city's new ordinance covering the permitting & inspection process for residential reroofs, which will become effective August 1, 2025. The first link below will direct you to a letter from The City of OKC to ORCA contractor members, while the second link will take you to the official approved ordinance. Both documents may be downloaded for your records.

City of OKC - ORCA member letter

Approved Reroof Permit & Inspection Ordinance

ORCA has been working closely with the City of OKC over the past several months on this particular initiative. This notice to members is specific to upcoming changes regarding the re-roofing of existing one-and two-family dwellings, effective August 1, 2025, as was recently passed by vote of the Oklahoma City Council. You will note that roofing completed during new construction will not require a separate permit. Also, roofing contractors must hold a valid state license or registration, but no additional roofing contractor registration will be required by the city at this time.

The attached ordinance language is as approved; signed copies will be viewable online in the coming weeks. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Very Respectfully,

Avery
